Mrs. Nelson's Anvil

I've had this anvil for 50 years! It's time to clean it up.

When I was 12 our neighbor, Mrs. Nelson, was moving and told me I could have any tool I wanted out of her basement. I decided I wanted this anvil.

I'm blacksmithing now and it's time to clean the anvil up and make it usable.

The evolution

With a few hours work the old anvil is ready to go. I'm thrilled with how good it looks. Watch the clean up video to see how this anvil went from rust bucket to shiny beauty.

SO rewarding

This is one of the most rewarding things I've ever done. Having this anvil back on duty is a thrill. Hopefully Mrs. Nelson is proud.

The anvil looks great, I'm sure she would be so proud! I also love the tools I collected as a 12 year old!

Thanks. I'm SO glad I didn't dump it at some point in the many moves I've made.
